Step Up to STEM - NCSSM

These one week residential summer programs held on the NCSSM-Durham and Elizabeth City State University campuses are designed to provide STEM opportunities and support for rising 9th and 10th graders from groups historically underrepresented in STEM fields and college attendance, including but not limited to students who identify as African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, or female; students from low-income households; and students from the three NC U.S. Congressional Districts (1, 3, 11) with the lowest proportion of students pursuing post-secondary education after graduating from high school.

Campbell University STEM Camp

Day camp provides rising 6th - 12th grade  students a chance to do hands-on activities with faculty and staff in the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and in the School of Engineering. Students will also be introduced to Campbell University’s Student Success Office and Undergraduate Admissions Office.

UNCW Marine Quest Our Summer Enrichment Programs offer an age-specific curriculum for children and teens from 4-17 with rich opportunities to develop their knowledge and passion for marine science while enjoying hands-on educational activities and inquiry-driven exploration

Methodist University SummerJam!

SummerJam! is open to all musicians ages 11-18 who want to enhance their musicianship and interact with other student musicians from across the state and region. In order to have the best possible camp experience, instrumental and vocal students need to have had at least one full year of prior instruction or experience in music. Students develop their music skills through large ensemble participation, master classes, lessons, academic classes, and concerts.

General Shelton's Leadership Camp

The General Shelton Leadership Camp is a one-week summer residential experience for rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school that takes place on the campus of Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C. The Shelton Camp is designed to help students expand their knowledge and skills of what it takes to be an effective leader. General Shelton’s cornerstones of values-based leadership – honesty, integrity, compassion, diversity, and social responsibility – are the foundations of the experience. The core curriculum focuses on leadership roles and accountability, team building, leadership styles and situations, social responsibility, integrity as a leader, public speaking, changing behaviors, and goal setting.
