We invite parents, staff, students, and community members to complete a brief survey sharing the qualifications, experience, and personal characteristics you believe are important for the new board member. The survey link is: https://bit.ly/boeappointmentsurvey
Individuals interested in serving on the Board of Education should submit a letter to the Board expressing their interest and describing their reasons for wishing to serve. Letters of interest should be emailed to ccsboardapplicant@clinton.k12.nc.us.
The deadline to complete the survey and submit a letter of interest is 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) received multiple alerts about a growing social engineering campaign where threat actors are asking for payments for test-related items by posing as WIDA or ACCESS representatives, The ACT, or a test prep company acting on their behalf. Under no circumstances will NCDPI ask for payment with regards to these tests. NCDPI has also made The ACT aware of the situation. The ACT does not use email, postal, or telephone campaigns to sell third party test prep resources or services.
The threat actor(s) have been contacting parents, students, and districts in varying fashion including, but not limited to, email, phone, and SMS. In some cases, they have been aware of information such as the student’s name, address information, and grade. Carefully investigate any test prep offer and be on the lookout for the common signs of scams:
Sense of urgency
Suspicious domains, links, or attachments
Unexpected payment requests
Parents are advised to reach out to the test coordinator at their school if they have any questions regarding the legitimacy of a test related communication.

You may have heard that bad actors have recently been contacting some school systems concerning data from the PowerSchool data breach that occurred almost six months ago. Clinton City Schools has not yet received any contact directly from the bad actors.
Please note PowerSchool contracted with Experian and is offering two years of complimentary identity protection services to students and educators whose information was involved. For adult students and educators, this offer will also include two years of complimentary credit monitoring services.
If you have not already enrolled in these services, you are highly encouraged to visit
