Due to hazardous road conditions caused by recent wintry weather, Clinton City Schools will be closed for students and staff February 2, 2026.

Clinton City Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule Tuesday, January 27, 2026 due to the forecast for extremely low temperatures and possibility for black ice in some areas.

Due to ongoing hazardous winter weather conditions and forecasts of continued impacts from a winter storm affecting our area, Clinton City Schools will be closed for students and staff Monday, January 26, 2026.

📚🎓 Big congratulations to Brianna Jackson (left) and Jazlyn Orona (right), recipients of the Dark Horse Fellows Forgivable Loan! 🐴✨ This week, they officially signed their promissory notes and committed to returning to Clinton City Schools to teach after earning their education degrees. Both are also proud North Carolina Teaching Fellows! 👩‍🏫🍎 Brianna is headed to NC State University, and Jazlyn will attend East Carolina University this fall. We can’t wait to welcome these future educators back to Dark Horse territory!

You may have heard that bad actors have recently been contacting some school systems concerning data from the PowerSchool data breach that occurred almost six months ago. Clinton City Schools has not yet received any contact directly from the bad actors. Please note PowerSchool contracted with Experian and is offering two years of complimentary identity protection services to students and educators whose information was involved. For adult students and educators, this offer will also include two years of complimentary credit monitoring services. If you have not already enrolled in these services, you are highly encouraged to visit https://www.powerschool.com/security/sis-incident/notice-of-united-states-data-breach/ and follow the instructions. You must enroll no later than July 31, 2025 to take advantage of this offer.

Good afternoon, Dark Horse Families, If you have a child who will turn 5 years old on or before August 31, 2025, and you reside in the Clinton City School District, they are eligible to enroll in kindergarten at L.C. Linda Jewell Carr is organizing and directing performances of Mother Goose Incorporated as a fund raiser for CAFE. Show dates are March 7 and 8 at 7 pm and March 9 at 2 pm. All shows are in the CHS Prestage Auditorium. All cast members are CCS students and staff.
